Rennes Train Station
Study on thermal comfort and overheating in the station as part of an adaptation project to high temperatures.
The mission’s objective is to characterize the thermal discomfort felt within the station hall and to evaluate the impact of mitigation solutions.
In the summer of 2022, significant overheating associated with high temperatures was observed in the station hall, with consequences on operations (heat-induced illness, removal of goods, product deterioration, etc.). The client sought assistance in selecting short-term mitigation solutions. The study led to the planned installation of air circulators in 2025. Building on this approach, Rennes Train Station will undergo a climate change adaptation plan to prepare the station for increasingly frequent and intense heatwaves over the long term.
